ADU and garage conversion plumbing in Sacramento, CA
An ADU is a small house, and it needs everything a house needs from the plumbing.

We plan sewer, water and gas service for backyard ADUs and garage conversions, check that the existing sewer line can take the extra flow, and install rough-in and finish plumbing through inspection.
What adu plumbing covers
California has made accessory dwelling units much easier to build, and Sacramento-area homeowners are adding them for family, rental income or home offices. Plumbing is one of the biggest variables in the budget, mostly because of the sewer connection.
An ADU's drain has to reach the main sewer with proper slope. That can mean a long trench, a sewer ejector pump on flat lots, or an upgrade to an old lateral that cannot handle more flow. We camera and measure first so the plan and budget are real.

ADU Plumbing in Sacramento: what we see locally
Many Sacramento lots are flat, which can make sewer slope from a rear ADU tight. Where gravity will not work, an ejector pump is the fallback, and we plan for that early.
Sewer slope and distance from the main house set most of the plumbing cost on an ADU.
In older neighborhoods with clay laterals, we recommend camera inspecting the existing line before design. Tying a new unit into a root-filled lateral is a problem waiting to happen.
